I know we can't really stop it, but why is the government so stubborn? It's not like we don't have enough money.

  1. Fire the Bush family once and for all.

  2. In the past, the U.S. kicked *** and took names.  Now we have become sissified.  If we really wanted to lower gas prices, we could go into Saudi Arabia and simply TAKE over the country, and then WE'D be the ones in control of the gas prices.

  3. Would you like the price of gold to decrease aswell? If you didn't know oil prices are increasing because oil is becoming scarce. So until we get more oil or find a substitute its going to keep going up. BTW petrol runs out in 45 yrs.

  4. all other countries especially oil producing country's seem to be confused as to why American leaders are saying there is a an oil shortage.

  5. not tryin to sound like a smartass...but dont drive as much.

  6. First of all we have to rewrite the laws of supply and demand. Then we have to persecute the oil companies, despite the fact that the importer margin on petrol (i.e. profit) has remained near constant for years (admittedly fluctuating a bit both up and down), they are the beourgouise, exploiting the Proliteriat. Then as a third step we have to forceably take over all the countries with oil, luckily they all have WoMD.

Really there is no way of stopping prices from increasing, the government could put in a price roof or subsidise it, this would be grossly inefficient, the former would mean many people couldn't get petrol no matter how much they could spend, the later would mean the government would spend more and more when basic services aren't that great.

  7. I don't think the government can do much, especially not in the short term.  There are quick fixes, such as suspending gas tax, or emptying the strategic national petroleum reserve, that would ultimately do more damage later.

I think it's not so much the government, but us as individuals, that have to do something.  Conserve.  Plan trips carefully.  Drive fuel-efficient vehicles.  We conserved gas in WWII, we could do it again.

  8. We will have to rest control of the power government and Big Oil has over us by finding an alternative energy source. It only costs $5 dollars a barrel to bring the oil out of the ground in Saudi Arabia, and only $3 a barrel to bring it out of the ground in Alaska.

I don't think for a second that oil should be priced at $135 a barrel. And then we find out that global oil demand is at a 6 year low,  but still oil and gas prices rise.

We need to start realizing that the "powers that be" are using oil as a mechanism of control and taxation.

Truckers stopped traffic, what in florida were we behindt them lets take to the streets instead of staying home bitching about it.. Let our nation's people fight forsomething we believe in.. Strike, sitdown, slowdown, riot  or  whatever we have to do let us unite against our common enemy the oil companies..
