First thing is that most of the people who are violent you will find them drunk. Hence wine is the root of all evils. Most of the religions have declared wine is not permissible. The other reason is suppression of poor and week segments of society. The poor tend to be violent because they want to get their rights by force. The third reason is the poor administration of the governments which encourage the goons to loot the properties of others which is the easy way of earning. Now u decide.

follow the money.

gangs cause a great deal of shootings, muggings, etc... and most of them run off drug money.  The "War on Drugs" hasn't done anything but make a few people rich, so it's time to try something different.  Make ALL drugs legal.

This would kill the gangs.  Un-fund terrorists.  Soothe a few cancer patients and let us raise hemp for fabric and food.

Sure, some people would abuse drugs.  I never said you can't toss some bloke in jail who decided to drive drunk.  Or practice medicine while high on coke.  But these things happen now and its illegal... is he argument that MORE potheads will get jobs driving trains just because smoking is legal?  That's silly.

Of course it cannot happen.  The very people that support the pot laws are the ones that make the money off it.  For example, you can't grow hemp as a product in the US (unless we have another war, then its okey-dokey, like in WWII), even though hemp is genetically dominant of marijuana and would dilute any pot grown in a hemp field making it worthless.  So who would support the anti-hemp laws?  Pot growers.

Violence can be stopped not so much  by external means as by internal transformation. Violence or aggression is an inborn trait which was a part of the animal kingdom when we evolved.It was necessary for survival.But violence in today's world has become perverted and is not needed for survival.

Only when you give up violence within yourself, in your thoughts and in your mind can you stop being violent. The need of the times is to change violence within and violence in society will stop.
