  1. Well foods that are nutritious such as apples, carrots, broccoli, spinach, bananas, nuts, whole grains, water, fish all have vitamins and minerals essential to our diet and keeping us strong, healthy, and in shape.

    Potato chips, pop, candy, processed foods, fast food, liquor all do not have a good source of nutrients. They are usually more high in fats and sugars which are harmful to our body by not giving us essentials we need and causing our body fat go up, cardiovascular health go down, and cholesterol to rise.

    fruits and vegetables are the best.

    try and eat things with a lot of vitamins, protein, and minerals. it will be stated on the bottom of the nutritional lablel.

    when looking at the calories make note of how many of those calories are from fat. they may have a lot of calories but few of them are from fat.

  3. A nutritious diet contains a good amount of carbohydrates, protein, and healthy fats.  A nutritious diet will consist of mainly or only non-processed food.  A nutritious diet will be balanced.

    A non-nutritious diet is full of processed foods and fast food.  It lacks proper nutrients and/or good sources for those nutrients.  A non-nutritious diet is not balanced.

    Reading food labels is a good way to tell how healthy a food is.  You should be checking sugar, fat, and sodium content.  If you want to lose weight you should look for low-calorie foods.  

    The larger the list of ingredients for a particular food, the more processed it is.  If you look at potatoes or eggs there will be no ingredients.  

    Why? Because they aren't processed, they only consist of one ingredient, themselves, not added ingredients, like high fructose corn syrup and hydrogenated oil and the various chemicals factories use in their products.

    Good sources of protein are egg whites, lean meat, and sea food.  Good sources of carbohydrates are potatoes, wheat bread, and brown rice.  Good sources of healthy fats are avocados and fish.  If one is looking to lose weight they should consume a diet high in protein and low in fat and carbs.

    The main beverage for everyone should be water.  It has 0 calories and naturally occurs in life.  It is not laden with various chemicals that processed drinks have.  It makes up 75 percent of the body and is the best beverage to hydrate you.  It also aids in removing toxins from the body.  The next best thing is 100% fruit juice, which should be taken in moderation.
