  1. what you can do is go to like best buy and buy...i think it is called a s-video or something you can hook it up to your computer and it will copy the tapes to your computer, and then when it comes time you can burn them to a dvd from your computer...its not very expensive either i believe i just saw one the other day for about 25 dollars. Best Buy I know for sure has one because my boss and I were just talking about transfering videos to a dvd the other day and i called up best buy and they directed me exactly to what i needed. Just ask them exactly what you just asked just now and you will find what you are looking for...hope this helps!

  2. I have a good one. I bought this myself and it works great. If you have a Best Buy or a Circuit City or any other electronics place you can ask them if they sell a Dazzle video converter. It has the red yellow white audio/video inputs along with an S-video input. You install its software on your computer and plug it into a USB port. Then you plug your VCR into it. Then open the DVD maker it came with and follow the instructions from there. Also look in the phonebook for videography and picture places they will most likely be able to put them on DVD's too.

  3. Go to your local CVS Pharmacy. You can bring your old tapes in and send them off to get a DVD made. Your Orginial tape will come back too!

  4. You can buy a DVD-Recorder/VCR combo. If they are home tapes and have no copyright protection, they'll dub seamlessly

Cost: About $100-150 for the recorder, and $20 for 50 DVDs. Each DVD can hold about 6-8 hours

  5. If you can afford this, this will save you time and headaches.

No computer needed to hook up your camcorder, vcr or any other to the the Sony DVD Direct...

  6. Link your VCR up to a DVD recorder with RCA cables (the cables with the yellow, white and red prongs).  Set the recorder to video mode, play your VCR footage and record with the DVD.  You'll be able to transfer the footage onto DVD without losing quality.

  7. Old home movies on reels? I don't know exactly how they go about that. I know now, you can transfer VHS to DVD by purchasing a converter, which I did with all my Disney tapes for my neice. Well, here's a site that might better explain how, and these guys are in my hometown and know their business:

    www.rowephoto.com

I remember that they were advertizing about upgrading home movies to DVD. You could at least contact them and they should be able to refer you to a place near you that does the same thing...

  8. There are machines which come with vhs and dvd and it can be used to transfer the vhs videos to dvd with the original quality. Here is a link to show you what machine i am talking about. http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?Modu...

If that is the correct link that will show you a machine which you might be looking for.

  9. Cucusoft Video to DVD Creator is a good choice. It converts popular video formats such as AVI, MPEG, WMV, DivX, DV, VOB to DVD and burn DVD movie played on portable or home DVD player. Any video to to VCD/DVD/SVCD is even faster than real-time.
