  1. The number one thing to do is to make sure you completely understand the monologue you are using for your audition. Use as many resources as you need to make sure you have a modern day english translation of what you have to say, and some ability to relate it to any sort of current experiences.

Also, know exactly the character you are playing, how they would say what there are saying, know what is happening in the scene you are speaking in, and who you are talking to. This will make sure you are convincing for the part and show your knowledge of the play.

When you're saying your monologue, don't stand as stiff as a board (even if your nervousness is trying to get the better of you). Stay loose, present yourself well, and make eye contact.

As you're speaking, use body language for sure. It keeps everything you're saying interesting and shows that you know how to react to surroundings.

Always keep a positive and honest attitude when talking to the people who will be seeing you audition/ interviewing you. It helps and makes you seem more personable and easy to work with.

I hope my advice helps you if/ when you have an audition. Although, this advice will work for pretty much any theatre audition for sure. Good luck! :)
