how can you adjust a corset

i recently bought a corset over the internet for not much. the corset is boned and laced up back

even at its smallest size

its too big

could anyone suggest possible ways to make it smaller

i don't mind sewing

return it and buy one that is sold in inches not s,m,l or in dress sizes ie uk 10, 12 etc.
