  1. OK, well why do you want a fast adoption?  That is like saying you want to get pregnant really fast and deliver really fast.  A baby is not something anyone should rush into.  It takes time, thought and planning.

You have asked five questions on Yahoo about adoption, mostly foreign adoption.  Why do you now want to know the fastest way?  There are many international adoptions that can happen in a year.  That is about the same as through biology.

My advice, take a deep breath, and honor this situation and plan.  Be careful and take the necessary steps one at a time.  There is simply so way (or good reason) to rush adoption.  That would likely be a mistake.  There are no shortcuts.  Good things take time!!

You asked before about an adoption In Africa.  Did you know there are African American babies here in the U.S. you can adopt?  If you get an approved Adoption Homestudy, and then contact agencies in the U.S., you could be a parent in just a few months! Wow!  Exciting!  Good luck!

  2. the best way to adopt w/out an agency is to actually know the birthmother .if the birth mother is wanting to give the baby up for adoption, you can have your attorney draw papers up giving you temp. custody of the child while you wait for social  services to do their background check and all the paperwork determining if they (social services) find that you are qualified to adopt. this way you can go ahead and have physical custody of the child and start the bonding process while waiting for the adoption to become official.

  3. If you know someone that is pregnant and wants to place their baby with you then you can just go through your own personal attorneys if they want you to have the baby.

  4. Fastest way? kidnap? I know a petshop where you can buy one.

  5. you dont want to do that... you need an agency or an attorney for private adoption if you go that route, but dont try to adopt without one of them.. its dangerous and you could be subject to scams.

  6. If it were that easy, people wouldn't be waiting for years and years.  Even if an adoption without an agency did go through, you could be tied up in court for quite some time waiting, paying lawyers out the nose etc.  The fastest way is to get an older child as a foster...they need loving homes too, and very often parental rights are terminated and they become available to adopt. (just as often they go back to the bad situation they came from, and this is heartbreaking)  If you can't open up your home to an older child, the next thing to do is to look into international adoptions where you could have the baby in as little as 6 months to a year.  Any way you go, be prepared to spend tens of thousands of dollars....sleepless nights waiting for a phone call, get approved, birth mother changes mind, etc.

  7. try adopting out of the u.s you actually get the baby after a year long process

  8. In some states, you can use an adoption attorney rather than an agency.  You must find the prospective mother yourself, rather than the agency doing so for you.  And in these cases, you are often without protection (the mother can change her mind at any time before, during and sometimes even after-WAY after) the birth.

You should go with the most reputable method, not the fastest.  A child is not fast food.  And if there were such "quick fixes", then as someone else already mentioned there would not be the years on end waits that some adoptive parents face.

Contact an adoption agency (or an attorney if that is legal in your state) and find out what they have to offer.  Some countries that participate in international adoption have fast tracks, some are incredibly slow.  Adopting from the US foster care system is always something I recommend, and is probably quicker than most other routes.

  9. Do you have a homestudy yet? You will need one no matter what type of adoption you do, so to speed things up I suggest you start that. It can take months to get the criminal checks done.

  10. The fastest way isn't always the safest and best for the child. You are better off going through an agency so that they can help and prepare you.

  11. very hard. call your local adoption agency and see what they say.  sorry
