How can you attach artificial flowers onto a wedding cake?

Question

I was just wondering how artificial flowers are attached to wedding cakes, do they just stick them in or join them all together with flourist tape and then stick it in or what.

they use edible ones most of the time, or just stick them in i am assuming

I've never seen artificial flowers on a wedding cake.  They're either fondant, sugar or REAL flowers.   Many flowers are edible, as long as they haven't been sprayed with pesticides.  Roses and violets are very commonly used.  You can even dip them into slightly beaten egg whites, then into sugar and dry on racks...

i think they use toothpicks to hold them in place..
