How can you be open to your parents about your boyfriend?

Well my ex-boyfriend is coming out of juvie in a month..every time he called i told them it was a friend but it wasn't..hes in there for running away so hes not a bad person..i broke up with him because it was too hard to keep up with him..but when he comes out we might get back together and i want to know how i can let my parents know that hes a good guy and he has no bad intentions towards me hes a nice fun loving guy..they let me have a boyfriend they say they dont mind but i dont know..i think if they found out i had a boyfriend they will treat me diffrent

The best way is honesty!

Edit:  Tell them just what you told us.  If you can't say it, write it to them in a note or a letter.  Sometimes it is easier that way.
