for an american how can you become a s. korean citizen if possible..

Most people marry a South Korean and apply.

You should talk to the embassy if that is not your plan.

One of the most easiest way to become a South Korean citizen is married to Korean.

Although you married to a Korean, it will take more than several years to become a citizen.

And plus, I've heard you should have certain money in the bank account  and attend something like test and also  something like an interview,

I've heard it is not so easy...

CALL THE KOREA EMBASSY THROUGH THE YELLOW PAGES...YES YOU CAN FIND IT...CALL AND ASK WHAT YOU CAN DO....BECAUSE HERE YOU HAVE TO BE RESIDENT FOR MORE THAN FIVE YEARS TO APPLY I DON'T KNOW HOW MANY OVER THERE... GOOD LUCK!!!!
