How can you block youtube website on my computer?

Yes, if you know which ones they are accessing, it is a pretty simple task. You can use the Windows 'Hosts' file to accomplish this, here's how:

In Windows XP, the hosts file is found here:

C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts

Once you have found the hosts file, right click it and select Properties. Uncheck the "Read-Only" attribute (if checked). Click OK.

Double click the 'Hosts' file and select "Notepad" from the list of programs to open it with.

Once you have the hosts file open in Notepad, you will see an entry such as:

127.0.0.1 localhost

To block youtube web page from loading, add the following:

127.0.0.1 www.youtube.com

Your Hosts file will now look like this:

127.0.0.1 localhost

127.0.0.1 www.youtube.com

Add as many web addresses as you like in the same fashion.

Once you are finished, go up to 'File' and click 'Save'.

ok here what you do click "Tools" in the upper right hand corner of your internet explorer window then click on "Internet Options" (If it is not there just look around for it under options). Then click the little tab that says "Security" you will see a red circle with a slash through it like the ones on the no smoking signs. It says "Restricted Sites" under it. After you click on it you will see a button that says sites under it just click it and put in the sites you would like to block.

P.S. I have never blocked any sites but I'm pretty sure thats how you do it so give it a shot and please let me know if it works. maybe give me best answer too. :)

bring up u-tube's home page, select and copy the url, then goto "my computer" then "control panel" then "security" then "internet options" then "content advisor" paste the url into approved/disallowed, then click disallowed
