Question:

How can you broadcast your own FM or AM radio station?

I've been getting into radios, like cb and scanners and such and I was thinking id like to be able to broadcast a FM channel from my room so I can listen to it on the radio in the garage like play music from my computer thinking there might be a simple answer to it kinda doubting it though, any information would be appreciated though.

You can do this legally.  What you want is what the FCC calls a "Part 15" radio station.  FM stations travel usually about 250 feet.  AM transmitters can travel between 1/2 to 2 miles.  The transmitting antennas for AM are more complex however.  Some guys report up to 8 mile range on AM, but the transmitter costs about 1000.00.  here are some websites to check out.
