How can you check a school's accreditation?

They should have their accreditation listed somewhere on the website.  If you can't find it, it's not accredited.  They might claim to be accredited.  Regional accreditation is much better than national - classes are unlikely to transfer from nationally accredited colleges.  Find the accreditation agency that accredited them, and then make sure that agency is recognized by the US Dept of Education - some colleges make up fake agencies so they can claim they are accredited, but it's just a scam.
