How can you check if your phone number is private?

It's a normal, cordless home phone & is not mine, it's shared.

If you look in the phone book and it is not there. It is private. If someone calls you from that phone and it is private it will say so in the caller ID. You can also try a reverse look up online, if it comes up it is not private.

If you have a cell phone or know someone who does call that phone from your home phone and if the number does not come up on your cell phone that means your phone number is private.
