"Same as you would someone out of a wheelchair...don't do it when they are looking back."

If I do that, then how can I let them know that I'm checking them out?

  1. Hi Joe, the worst thing you can do to somebody who is in a wheelchair is to treat them like an inferior person, because believe me, in a lot of cases they are not, and in some cases, they leave ordinary, able bodied people to shame with their intelligence.

Have you ever thought that this person( I presume it's a young lady) has not actually checked you out, but has not made any sort of interest known because of the ignorance of people towards those who are disabled, often through no [point of their own.

If this young lady is good enough for you to think about dating, then she is good enough for you to treat with the respect that you would show any able bodied person.

Be a true man and show her the respect she deserves, and treat her as an equal.

  2. just go and talk to her.. she won't be upset about it for sure! :)

  3. Same as you would someone out of a wheelchair...don't do it when they are looking back. Anyone may feel a little awkward if they notice someone staring at them, but people with disabilities or unusual characteristics are probably used to getting stares because they are different...and it can be frustrating to them for that reason.

Why not go up to the person and just speak to them? That way you've got a legitimate reason to look, without seeming like you are staring because there is something different about them.

  4. You can't.  When you check someone out you stare at them.  If you were to go up to them and talk to them then maybe they wouldn't think you are just staring because they're in a wheel chair.
