I believe there is a recent law that requires each of the three major credit bureaus to provide one free credit report per year.

Annualcreditreport.com.  You don't get your score for free, you can pay for it, but you do get the report and you can pull it once a year from each of the big 3.

That's how I check my credit...you can do it up to three times a year...one per major credit reporting bureau..Experian, Equifax, TransUnion.
