  1. I'll go with Devin's reply..the old standby, the plunger.

EDIT  Go with Rousseau..she knows her stuff (seriously) She is a butt nurse in real life.

  2. Support your feet with a small step stool [about 6in.] when you sit on the toilet. This will help flex your hips and place your pelvis in a more normal "squatting" position for having a bowel movement.

    If you are still constipated:

Add some processed or synthetic fiber-such as Citrucel, Metamucil, or Perdiem-to your diet each day.

Try a stool softener, such as Colace, if your stools are very hard.

Try a rectal glycerin suppository. Follow the directions on the label. Do not use more often than recommended on the label. Do not use a suppository while you are breast-feeding unless your health professional tells you to.

In difficult cases of constipation, it is better to try a saline (osmotic) laxative, such as Fleet Phospho-Soda or Milk of Magnesia or Lactulose. You should not take these types of laxatives if you are on a sodium-restricted diet or have kidney problems or high blood pressure. Osmotic laxatives do not irritate the colon or cause dependence on laxatives like stimulant laxatives can

  3. 255 gram canister of Miralax mix with Gatorade

4 Bisacodyl tablets... you should also be on a clear liquid diet for a day or 2 before taking the aforementioned.

Take the tablets 3 hours before drinking the Miralax.

Make sure your BP is ok to take in all that sodium.

  4. a plunger

  5. When all else fails, it's best to use what always worked for generations -- good ol' prunes jarred in their own juice. It works every time.

  6. You will have to use something a little stronger, obviously. Perhaps castor oil, serious stuff. I assume you would need to contact a physician before doing anything else.

  7. try a colonic.

Eat foods rich in fiber. Bulky foods. You can also fast for a day or so. drinking fluids to clean out your system. GNC has a bodycleanse which cleans you out good.

Prunes and mineral oil are also very good. Not nice but good for your problem. The doctor made a very valid point there.
