  1. Yank the inboard, fill the transome with ply, glass and epoxy...then mount a bracket of suitable strength for your outboard. If the transom can take the outboard directly...go for it...maybe even cut it down a bit.

The problem is...we don't know how much horsepower we are talking....whether power or sail...stuff like that...

Either way...a pretty straightforward project...for big power you need to reinforce the transom. Find a competant welder and get a tubular stainless or heavy aluminum offset bracket made up.

    Good luck.

  2. you plug up all the holes and them you have to make a reinforced rear transom to hold the motor.

  3. You can save yourself a lot of trouble buy repairing either the Motor or out drive, and probably be less expensive.

  4. all of the above, but you have a fuel tank and supply problem that must be converted to an outboard system.

  5. It takes a lot of work to do this.  First remove the existing engine and drive.  You have to plug and seal the stern opening.  That means reworking the stern so it is made complete again.  Then the best way to convert to outboard is to attach a special bracket made for this purpose.  It bolts to the stern and will support the outboard of your choice.  The bracket is custom made and will be expensive.  There are several companies that make them.  Most times it does not pay to convert, especially with an older boat.  Good Luck.
