How can you create your own search engine for free?

I want one but i dont want it like when people search it gives me money i want it free so any ideas on how?

A search engine won't give you money while people merely search, revenue is created from ad sales. I'm sure you can find some free scripts on the internet but unless you have very advanced programming knowledge (or a team of developers) who are constantly performing upgrades to performance, upgrades to security, optimizing the site based on statistics etc. you won't get very far.

A search engine is hard to maintain. The main reason people like Jerry Yang and David Filo or Sergey Brin created search engines was so they could change the way data is collected and manipulated on the internet.

If you're determined I'd recommend to start learning Python or C/C++, otherwise it's going to be a waste of your time.
