How can you deactivate an xbox live account?

I had an old account that i accidentally made with my current email and now i can't put my email with my current gamertag. Is there any way that i could deactivate my old gamertag?

Ring MS and tell them to shut down your old account, then you can use the email

go to recover gamertag when you press the middle xbox guidebutton make sure you are signed out. then change the email on it. Or just make another e-mail.
