How can you determine if there is black mold in your house without tearing the house apart?

  1. If you can't see it, you won't know unless you open up the walls or pull back some carpet.  Do you have a reason to suspect that you have it?


  2. an old house, is it dry, does it smell damp, are the windows opened regularly to allow the free flow of air, are your ceilings clean, if you have to look for it i don't think there is any

    Toxic mold grows where no sunlight can reach and where there is a constant water source like from a leaking pipe.  Like inbetween walls and ceilings and crawl spaces and basements etc. Look around your home for any signs of old water leaks. Like discoloration of walls or ceilings. Follow the water pipes for any signs of water leaks. If there is a water leak inside the wall then 100% its the ideal breading environment for toxic mold stachybotrys. Go from there
