you cannot drill into gas now can you? the sun is a big ball of incandescent gas, the core of the sun is so hot that it would melt anything in an instant.

you will need an extreme flameproof drill twice the siz of earth to make a little hole in the sun. keep digging for about a million years and you should hit the core.
