We have lots of resident chippies, so cute, but not when they are constantly digging the flowers right out of their pots! Is there anyway to encourage them to keep on going?

  1. Set up a sign that says "No trespassing, all chipmunks will be shot."

If that doesn't work, you might wanna have a sit down talk with the chipmunks and explain why you don't want them digging in your plants. I'm sure they'll understand.

    Good luck ;P

  2. Rodents avoid mothballs, but they're not safe for children & pets. If that's not a fear, you can sprinkle mothball flakes on top of the dirt, then hide them visually with mulch.

  3. just put like a small fence or blocking thing around the pot lol

  4. BB Gun

  5. shoot them (with a airsoft gun or something)

  6. The chili peppers work!  OR just buy a large jar of cayenne pepper.  Same thing.  Don't pay for a gourmet brand!  Buy the restaraunt size as cheap as you can find.

  7. there is pepper spray stuff, hot pepper wax, that you can spray on your flowers, it does not hinder plants in any way and keeps rodents out, it's not harmful(as in toxic) to the animals, it's organic, and it works just as well on any fruit or vegetable plants too, it also has the added bonus, since it has wax in it, of retaining moisture taken in by the plant.

  8. If you ever have hair , like from a hairbrush, wrap that around the base of the plants. It's really annoying to the animals and not worth it to dig.

You can also try putting some hot sauce around where they dig for the same reason.

  9. pour hot sauces or pepper on to soil and it will deter your pests(and it will not harm your plants)

  10. put ground chili peppers on the dirt in the pot

  11. Put your hands on your hips and kindly, yet firmly, tell them you do not approve of this behavior and would really appreciate they stop this instant!

    That, or some M-80s.
