How can you do an out of body experience? any experts??

i heard of people doing obe's and i think it sounds pretty cool how you can see yourself sleep and you can travel..some people do it because they want to and others it just happens.

so i dont need that to be explained to me..my mom had an obe about 18 years ago but she didnt mean to have one she didnt even know what was happening to her until she landed back in her body...she saw my dad almost get hit by a car.

what are ways to have one

and can u go anywhere you want??

Please disregard the previous answer, choking yourself blocks essential nutrients and oxygen from the brain. This will kill neurons and it obviously won't produce these out of body experiences (obe).

Obe's, in my opinion, cannot be true. I believe, for example, when you are sleeping, your neurons fire randomly to produce the known phenomenon called dreaming. I believe that these same random firings will produce the same obe's that was experienced. But, this must include the whole brain, which I will believe if you watching the brain from a fMRI, you will see active cortical regions (I believe all of them).

These reason why you have the emotional aspect, is because of the mid-brain structure of the limbic system (memories, emotions, etc).

obe's share a resemblance with hallucinations (either visual, smell, or auditory, or all of them). These hallucinations seem real to people because you have the use of the same structures, as you would use for real stimuli. OBE's seem real to people because they use the smae brain structures that deal with these stimuli.

Hallucinations deal with random firings within the brain, which produce the false stimuli. Maybe obe's produce the same random firings, but have random firings within the whole brain. I say the whole brain because you are using the parietal lobe (for spatial recognition). temporal (for hearing, emotions, memory, and categorizing), occipital for visual, frontal lobe for analysis of the information, the limbic system for emotions (which work very closely with the pre-frontal cortex).

Now random firings idea won;t cover the obe's because everybody would say they have them. I will believe that these may be brought on by seizures of the whole brain (these do produce hallucinations, but this might actually produce the obe.). This also understands why they are rare. Seizures are common, but not all produce obe's. Maybe that is why your mother only had it once and that was it. It was becuase of a siezure in her sleep.

This is just my idea of what happens. Obe's may be explained by random firings of neurons. II highly doubt that you can choose where you want to go because, if random firings of neurons is correct, then whatever random firing produces, that is what you will get.
