  1. You just find an apartment near your work or friends. Pay the rent.  $600 will do it.  THe utilities add $100.   If you want to pay less, rent 1 room in a house with 2 others.  Each of you pay $350 which includes utilities. /

  2. well first are you trying to rent or buy a home? if your trying to buy a home then to get a cheap one go and look for foreclosures and bank repos they are always the cheap ones but as far as renting goes if your trying to stay within a budget then call up i think the county assistance office and they should let you know where there is affordable housing if not low income housing in your area good luck

oh and when you get your first place take your time trying to make it nice you don't have to spend big bucks right when you get it like for furniture go to goodwill they have very good furniture and very cheap

EDIT:since its just you and not a family try looking for an efficiency they are very cheap but they are just one room with a small kitchen and a bathroom and you just make it your home its grat we have one and there is 3 of us and we pay 450 a month and that includes all utilities good luck with your hunt but a normal apt depending where you are could run you roughly 5-600 a month plus electric and water if its not included so just sit down and do some calculations and make sure you can afford what you choose oh and an easy way to save some money is to ride the bus to get to and from work it will save tons of money for gas in pa a bus card is 35 a month people spend about that much on a tank of gas
