  1. Oh ho! It's Karaoke time!

It may seem hokey, but karaoke offers the widest selection of instrumental music of both new hits and classics.

You can find this several different ways (all legal, because there is no other way). iTunes, believe it or not, iTunes has karaoke music available for purchase from their online store. Their selection is fairly limited compared to going to a specialty shop, but you'll be surprised on how wide the selection is. Big box stores (circuit city, wal-mart, target) Go to the electronics section, now, see that section with karaoke machines? Don't be afraid, I know it's empty, but below the machines is a rack of karaoke CDs. Not a heck of a whole lot, but you'll find something.

The third and best solution, is a specialty shop. Check your local listings. Here you'll find karaoke shops and rentals. They're fully stocked. If you can't find what you want here, you won't find it anywhere.

Keep in mind, since popular songs are still protected under the copyright and intellectual property act of 1924 (ref 1957, 1968, 1978, 1999, 2004) you will still have to pay for everyone of these sources. But, hey, it's not expensive.
