I was adopted from the Dominican Republic when I was a baby. Is it even possible to ever find my mom in my life time?

  1. Perhaps the Dominican Republic embassy or consulate can help facilitate a search?

  2. I would start with your a-parents and the agency to get as much info as possible. Keep in mind the info may be "distorted".

Go down to the DR. Its such a small country and start asking around. Everyone usually knows everyone else and it wouldn't surprise me if someone recognizes your features or remembers something. Good luck.

  3. Start by talking with your parents. They may have information on your biological parents.  If they don't, then they'll at least have information from your adoption which should hopefully give you the legal names of your parents.  They can also get you in contact with the adoption agency that coordinated the whole thing.  If your biological parents want to be contacted, they would have left their information with the adoption agency.  If they didn't leave any information, or the information isn't current, you'll have a much harder time finding them...... but its still possible.  Good luck.

  4. I'm not sure, don't know what laws governed your adoption.

I too was adopted, at birth.  My biological family found me about 20 years ago.  It was so-so.  They wanted more from me than I could give.  My curiosity was satisfied and that was the biggest part for me.

Good Luck to you.  I wish you much, much success.

    Edit

Let me guess, the thumbs down are from people who have given kids up for adoption.
