How can you get a drain unclogged?

Question

Last night my drain clogged up pretty bad. The water is going down, but VERY slowly. I tried pouring boiling water down, but that didn't help. I then bought some Liquid Plum'r (the foaming snake thing) but I just went to rinse it down and it's still clogged.

Any suggestions? I'm trying to avoid calling a plumber.

Put baking soda follow by hot water...let me know if it actually works

I'm betting its hair.  Try lye.  Drano is a brand name, but you can use a can of plain old Lewis Lye.  Becareful with it.  It will burn you.  Follow directions on the can.
