How can you get a picture small without it messing up? PLEASE HELP!!!

I am trying to put a small picture on my profile but every time i try to resize it with paint it messes up my picture is there a way to make it well not messed up lol please help =]

An easy tool to use is Gimp, it is a photo editing tool. (Download here)

You can load the picture, then in the menu bar select image, scale image, and set the height and width of the picture down to the pixel. Be sure to unlink the two numbers.

I use a free program called IrfanView.  It's got a lot of great tools that allow you to crop pics, resize them and alter them in a bunch of other ways.  It's very easy to use and doesn't reduce the quality of your images.

Theres no way you're going to get a good picture using paint. here send it to my email and then i'll resize it with photoshop for you which is wayyyy better. but it'll be awhile before i can get it back to you. a maximum of a day
