How can you get/make a motor which can carry you if it is attacked to a pair of wheels?

I want to make a R/C car which is powerful enough to carry someone but i have a very limited budget.

Find an old junk electric lawn mower, cordless type (not plug-in).  Those motors run on batteries and would probably develop two or more horsepower with a proper controller.

use tread mill motors and 12v batterys from a car. wire it up and regulate the current with a breaker. but, there is no way of regulating speed or steering something of this size. No esc or servo will be able to work. the scale size of this to too large. ( 1/3 or 1/4 scale) mabe u should get into hobby grade r/c cars like me. so check this site out  http://www.towerhobbies.com/index.html
