  1. Good idea to replace it. having exposed metal to microwaves is bad news.

It could start sparking and cause a fire. Besides, they are fairly cheap these days.

  2. Yeah I agree, switch her up with a new one, wal-mart has some cheap new ones that are great. Trust me, if there is rust on the interior, who knows what is behind that sucker. It is worth replacing.

  3. uh, throw that thing out and buy a new one.  even if you have to go to a second hand shop to get one.  microwaves are known to cause brain damage in lab rats.  dont put your health in jeopardy

  4. If the rust problem is so severe that you think it will affect how the microwave will work then replacing it is a good idea.

However, if it is just aesthetics like if there's just a rust stain on the exterior, you can do this:

    1. Mix a bit of baking soda and vinegar until you get a pasty texture.

    2. Get a bit of aluminum foil and crumple it with shiny side showing.

    3. Dip the aluminum foil in the baking soda vinegar mixture.

    4. Gently scrub the rust off the microwave.

I hope this helps. Save the earth and save appliances that are still in good working condition.
