  1. I am 67 yrs old and since I was very young I was told ringworm is transmitted from cats. Call a vet and ask him.

  2. It's a fungus infection.

The soap will probably kill it, but for now, get your own, and don't share towels or washcloths.

It's spread by direct physical contact ... although it spreads better between cats or dogs and people than from people to people.

    I think the treatment is over-the-counter ...

Normal laundry methods will kill it on his clothes, the towels and the sheets.

  3. When I was a teenager, I got ringworm (which is not caused by a worm at all, but is a skin rash in small circular shapes) from a kitten that lived in a barn which my Dad brought home. I wouldn't worry about getting it from soap, as I believe it's transmitted by direct contact. It's very annoying, like poison ivy, but it will go away with treatment. Wash really well and try to avoid direct contact with it.

  4. Hi Kaja,

If you want to prevent yourself from getting it the best way would be to cure your husband. I came across this natural home remedy that cures ringworm in less than 1 week.

See link below for more info.

    Good luck

  5. Usually its contracted from once surface to another. like gym equipment most often. Its really not a big deal to get and lamisil usually clears it up.
