How can you get selected for the gifted and talented (gt) program?

You have to be recommended by your teacher.  Then you'll probably have a screening test, which is little test to see if it's worth their time putting you through the big test.  If you pass the screening, then the big test, which is really a battery of tests including academics and IQ.  If you pass that, you're in!

Being recommended by a teacher is the most common route, but parents can often successfully request that a child be screened. Check with your district's central office, and they can tell you if they screen based on parent request.
