  1. Everyone has a credit rating, regardless of whether they have a credit card or not.

Check your credit rating at www.creditexpert.co.uk

  2. it depends what loans and repayments youve made on time etc whether it be bank/card mortgage  your spied on at every angle

  3. Get a prepaid card:

and get your credit report for FREE:

Alternatively, you can write to Equifax or Experian, but they will charge you £2 on top of the stamp :)

  4. All the major credit agencies (Equifax, Experian, CallCredit) are obliged by law to provide you with a credit report for £2.  Experian and CallCredit will definitely do it with a cheque or postal order, Equifax with a debit card.  Note - they don't exactly make it easy to find the information to apply on their websites but it is there!  It is called the statutory report or statutory credit report

  5. Repaying student loans is an effective way to build credit. Also paying electric/water/gas bills on time.

  6. You probably do need to get one in order to find out your rating. I signed up with a credit report site while i only had a debit card and a student loan but nothing showed for months until i actually signed up for a credit card.
