It's a condition called Tinnitus.

Mine is due to trapped fluid in my ears and a lifetime of sinus issues.  It's so loud that I have to sleep with a sound maching to block out the ringing.

You are talking about tinnitus.  MDs now have a medication for it.

Also, try white noise machine

Humming to self

Using Ipod, etc.

Take high potency Vit.B complex....good for your nerves.

Gingko Biloba

Zinc 50 mg.

Use soft music in background

Cut back on alcohol which dilates blood especially to inner ear.

Avoid nicotine

Avoid places & things with loud noises.

my ears have been ringing for years i attended doc and was sent to hospital to be told i have tinnitus have you had any dizzy turns if so go see doc its definetly tinnitus good luck
