  1. Roll down the window....

  2. Smoke on deck underway? No, not going to happen!  When the sub is going a decent speed on the surface, the entire deck is awash, and if it going slow enough to not be awash, it is probably is restricted waters, when nobody can go topside because of the watches being manned.

While submerged, smoking is alowed in desginated areas, generally in places to ensure the smoke is quickly taken in by the ventilation system, and filtered through the boats atmosphere equipment.

  3. You suck it up or quit smoking.

  4. just dont smoke

  5. they surface in safe zones where you can smoke, but of course not during combat. However technology has changed drastically in 60 years, so they might be using venting ionizing systems.

  6. You don't.

  7. When the submarine is on the surface of the water, it is possible to go "on deck" or be in an area that is vented. It would be safe and suitable to have smoke break under such conditions.

  8. From what i have heard the only time you can smoke on a sub is when it is in port and you are on the deck or when you are at sea and surfaced and I think you can smoke out on the sub but never inside .
