You know like, after you restrict your calories/food alot, your hair starts falling out really fast?

How do you help your hair recover and anything you can do to speed up the "recovery"?

I've heard eating protein and multi-vitamin helps - but how many/much should you take? and what will happen if you take too much multi-vitamin?

  1. I meant to mention this in the previous post. The vitamins you dont want to take too much are are the fat soluble ones.. since they aren't flushing out of your body as fast. I think they are like A E K... They can tell you for sure when you go to buy the vitamins. Always talk to the pharmacist! Good luck

  2. I'm going through the same thing right now. I went on a really strict crash diet for about 2 weeks and that was almost a month ago, now my hair has been falling like crazy. I went to my dermetologist and he said it was Telogen Effluvium, which is when something happens to your body that causes excessive amount of hair fall. Telogen is the last stage of the hair cycle, which is shedding, which is natural, but telogen effluvium is when u lose a little more. Take a good daily multi vitamin and also a vitamin with Biotin and Vitamin E, which promote fast and healthy hair growth. Daily multi vitamins have good sources of both, but walmart has some vitamins that are for Hair Skin and Nails which contains LOTS of both Biotin and Vitamin E. Start taking some of those and just be gentle to your hair when washing and styling. Try googling Telogen Effluvium for more information. Dont worry, your hair will start getting thicker before you know it. Mine already has. And also.... the good thing about Biotin is that its a water soluable vitamin. Which means that if u were to take a lot, your body would use the most it can and then the rest would come out in your urine. Vitamin E, however, is not. It can buildup in your body. So be careful for that one. You'll be fine :)
