How do I hide that I live in my car from family & friends? This will just be for a few weeks with my boyfriend and me until we can save up enough to get our own place. We already have a place where we can go shower everyday, and he works at night so i will just go to work with him at night. (I work during the day.) Any suggestions would be great...

p.s. i am nervous and embarrassed about it.....

  1. are you trying to hide it because you have done something wrong? i mean  who cares what they think.. i mean i understand how you want to have your pride and all, but we all go through tough times and if your family and your friends cant support you in this situation, then you need to talk straight to them and tell them they have to back off and stop judging.

i wish you the best and may the hard time passes you faster than ever and you may live in your cozy home very soon. you guys are hardworkers. you deserve it.

  2. Just don't tell them. Make sure you remove a lot of your stuff out of your car before going to their house.

Why should you live in a vehicle anyway? Can't you stay in a friend or relative's basement for a few weeks?

  3. One way to deal with this is NOT to be hiding it, NOT to be nervous, and NOT to be embarrassed.  Rather, it sounds to me as if you have worked out the details of the logistics, like showering.  You are both working, you have a plan -- so what is really wrong here?

Only you can be ashamed, or as a person I highly respect says, "There are no victims, only volunteers."  So stand up tall, and put this into the perspective that you and your boyfriend are following the plan you have made.  To heck with what somebody might think of you!

More power to you!  Be a winner, having confidence in your well-thought-out decisions!  NOTHING to be hiding here!

  4. Honestly,

you will not have much success at this, as all you own is in that car

    it is sort of obvious

i wish you the best in the future

  5. I would park at a park at night or even a campsite, if it's not to much on you. What about his parents can you  talk to them?

I hope where ever you are parked at at night you are safe.

  6. If you are nervous and embarrassed, it means you are doing something wrong! I suggest you rethink your decision before you end up dead or in jail.

  7. Firstly, relax, you don't want them to guess something is wrong and follow you, do you? Anyways who gets to live such an awesomely different life? So just try an enjoy it. Maybe this can get you really close to your boyfriend since most of the time you spend is with him.

As far as hiding is concerned try to avoid your family and friends for a while. I don't know how can make time for them with your fun filled, adventurously hectic life anyways. But If you cannot avoid them, then just don't talk about home, just keep grumbling about your work or anything else so that they get bored of you and either leave you alone or talk about their own life.

I hope you enjoy this phase more than worry about it, and i hope you get out of it asap, since you cannot hide things for too long.

  8. I dont see how you would be saving any type of money , due to having to eat out all  the time. which is expesnive. Also if your under age, and cops do drive around at night catch you parking in an area that your not supposed to be in your, going to be in trouble. Also where do you plan on going to the bathroom at?  That does not seem like a very good idea, on top of that have you ever slept in a CAR? you wont get any good sleep at all..
