How can you if a tortise is a boy or girl?

Depends on what kind of tortise it is. In some the males will have a green head and orange eyes and the females will have brown eyes.

Because of their high-domed shells, tortoises are easy, if they are sexually mature. The plastron (lower shell) of the male is concave to fit around the carapace (upper shell) of the female. The plastron of a female or immature male is flat.
