  1. Don't overload your washer and make sure the water level is set high enough for the load you're doing. Try to wash like items together; don't wash heavy fabric like jeans with lighter fabric light knit shirts. There are some new detergents that are supposed to keep clothes looking new. I think Cheer makes one and Woolite has one too. Drying clothes too long makes them loose their color over time too. Try taking things like polo shirts and button ups out when they are still a little damp and let them finish air drying.

  2. I don't know if you have a top loader or a front loader, having had a top loader in the past myself I know that they do seem to wear out clothes quickly.  Front loaders are much more gentle on the clothes.  Once tip I always use is that I wash everything inside out.  I line dry if possible outside so the fact that they are inside out prevents fading.  I think also they fade less in the wash inside out.  If you use a tumble dryer pick the gentle heat option.

  3. using cold water helps for your clothes and your electric bill also folding your clothes inside out helps

  4. Hand washing your clothes is much better option to maintain their shape. Use a bucket of warm water, a good washing powder and leave soak for a little. Wring them out and hang dry, never use a dryer.

  5. Ironing

  6. I agree with the others who suggested ironing.  It's a lot of work but if you really want to look good, ironing definitely makes your clothes look 100% better.

  7. turn your clothes inside out?
