  1. Act like someone is going to kill you(HE HAS A KNIFE AND HES GONNA STAB YOU IN THE BALLS!!!)

  2. This is what worked for me: go out fast for the first 100, maintain speed on the backstretch and think about relaxing, attack the last curve to propel yourself into the homestretch; then maintain form, focus on leg lift and pumping your arms.  Good-luck and as my wise coach used to say, "RUN FAST!"

  3. The 400m is considered the toughest event by many runners, both distance and sprinters as it is a long sprint. You should get a good start while not going all out initially. After your first 100 or so, kick up your pace. Hold in there on the last curve, and fight like crazy on the last straightaway. Suffering is not an option; it's a necessity in doing your best, lol. Try not to let yourself get psyched out. One saying I like to run through my head is "Pain is weakness leaving the body". It's a saying by the Marines, and it's great to think about when you're feeling mentally and/or physically

exhausted during a race. Good luck!:)

  4. honest to god you have too sprint the entire race

the first 200m wont be too bad and after that come off the turn and say ok 100m to go and just go as fast as you can

easier said then done though right?
