How can you know somebody is emo if they don't look like it?

I'm pretty new to knowing what emo is.Is there certain way they act?Depressed?

to know if someones Emo its by what they listen to

to know if someones Scene is to look at what they're wearing, how they dress, and are 99.% posers

emos are for the music alone, yeah some of them dress with the skinny jeans or with lots of black but not all the time.  where as scene dress a certain way and act a certain way

well yes but there music and who they hang with but most times its the cloths 'the hair 'and the make up
