  1. Water it, and place it in a spot with lots of sunlight. U should also understand that it takes at least 1o years 4 a plant 2 grow big and provide a good shade

  2. give it the proper conditions for growth.u cn supplement it with plant hormones in very less quantity and only after knowin its requisite use from the local agricultural department or elsewhere.auxin and cytokinins should make it grow faster, but averting natures rule is always a possibility for disaster.

  3. what kind of tree?

  4. you can use a fertilizer with high Nitrogen, which will help the plant develop healthy foliage. Also make sure the fert you use contains a high Phosphorous content to insure that it gets a healthy root system going. Obviously make sure to water it regularly, and make sure it gets looots of sun light, the more sunlight the better. you can also use hormones such as vitamin B supplement for your plant, you can get them at your local gardening center (Super Thrive).

  5. Get some fertilizer spikes and pound them into the ground along the water line (where its longest branch sticks out)

Be sure to do it at least about 3 ft away from the trunk

  6. There are several species of Sequoia but you say it is the giant so it is probably Sequoiadendron giganteum but all seem to require similar moist conditions to grow well. They prefer the strip of coastal land and the sturdiest are found in deep valleys with streams and fog. These trees are adapted to the fog as an additional water source despite the region receiving  ~100 inches of rain annually so they prefer humid air and moist soil. However they can be injured by the grey mold Botrytis cinerea in hot summers that are wet.

The trees can be fast growers reaching 60 feet in 20 years. Use a controlled release fertilizer especially in warmer temperatures to prevent injury from excess nitrogen. An NPK of 8-20-30 gives growth and the best disease protection. Overfeeding nitrogen causes to much weak watery growth in the young tree.

Be sure the soil pH is between 5.5 & 7 with a loose loamy structure. Consider inoculating the soil with VA mycorrhizal fungi to promote optimal growth. They form mutually beneficial symbiotic root associations to exchange resources. If you do this reduce the fertilizer you use especially the phosphates. The mycorrhizal product usually specifies how much but it can be up to 25% less fertilizer than without the fungi.

The VAM or ECM root associations occur in all gymnosperms. The Sequoia have VAM.

  7. You can't. It's nature.

  8. A tree can be grown faster if all the conditions for growth is available. you can supply with small amount of phytohormones like auxins , . . . . .......... but it is in nature's hands.

  9. You may think I'm crazy - but I'm not.

Dump cold black coffee on it about once a month.... coffee is also good for houseplants.
