You can buy them off the shelf. An internet search should find a supplier relatively near you.  If I needed just one I might consider McMaster.com (in the US) but if you need several their prices tend to be high, (you pay for convenience)

While I actually like to "reinvent the wheel" (sometimes one can come up with an improvement) , it is usually more practical not to "make" somethig you can buy. Unless it is a hobby and you don't pay yourself for your time.

Perhaps you need to define what you mean by "bulky"
