  1. you can construct your own at godaddy.com that is what i did for our business and it was only 1.99 for the year

  2. You have to start with buying a domain name of your choice and hiring someone to build you a site.

    http://www.brickmarketing.com

  3. The first thing you need to do is purchase a domain name.  Google is already taken, but suppose you wanted to create a website named www.saraswebsite.com.  You would visit a domain registrar and try to register the name.  There is a fee associated with that name which varies depending on the registrar and whether you want .com, .net, .info, .us, etc.

The next step would be to get a web site host.  There is a monthly fee associated with that depending on which features you want and how big your site is, etc.

Many domain registrars will offer site hosting as well, and many site hosts will offer domain registration, sometimes at no additional cost as part of their hosting plan.  Then you have to design, code and upload your site, either with software like Frontpage or Dreamweaver, or by hand with HTML and other code.  If you want to do everything by hand, there are various tutorial sites on the web, or you could get a book out of the library.

One place to start is the domain registrar http://www.godaddy.com, which has a search engine to look for available domain names.  You can see if the name you want is available, and GoDaddy will also suggest other names if the one you want is already taken.  GoDaddy also offers hosting, and has a WebSiteTonight plan that will help you set up your new site.  Monthly web site costs range from $3.65 a month to $14.99 per month at GoDaddy, depending on the features you select and how long you pay for in advance (you get the best price for paying 3 years in advance.)  If you want to use their WebSiteTonight to create your site, prices range from 3.99 per month to $12.99 per month.

GoDaddy gives you a free website with every domain registered, but puts ads on your pages.  If that's OK with you, then you could get a .info website for $.99 and a free website and you're good to go.

Yahoo also has web hosting and is a good value at $11.95 per month if you need a lot of space and bandwidth.  Yahoo also has various site building tools. They pay the domain registration fees also.  http://smallbusiness.yahoo.com/webhostin...

There are other low cost hosts out there, and you should check out http://www.consumersearch.com/www/intern...

    for ratings.

BTW, saraswebsite.com is also already taken, but saraswebsite.info and .net and .org and .mobi are available.

  4. check out alternatives on freewebs eg www.jacqbabe.webs.com

  5. You can go to www.freewebs.com and get a website that will look like mine (www.freewebs.com/iutennis). If you'd like to see what a freewebs site looks like just check out mine.

    I also have a microsoft website that's free too, and it's www.themoneysite.tk
