I've heard a lot about this kind of thing, but I haven't been able to find anything that could tell me how to do it.

Oh, and none of these closed-minded idiots going "No u cant see ur aura, you crazy git". I want proper answers, and if you don't think people can do something, tell me why not.

  1. I can see auras but in order to do that you have to train your eyes to see the aura. You have to be able to relax and concentrate, at the same time, and there is a trick to focusing the eyes in a special way with our eyes we can sense (perceive) a very narrow range of vibration frequencies of ElectroMagnetic (EM) vibration corresponding to wavelengths from 0.3 to 0.7 micrometers - from purple to red. A mix of the vibration frequencies in the above range we perceive with our eyes as color. We can measure this mix precisely by recording a spectrum of light, but only using special instruments, called spectrophotometers.

In order to see it you have to:

Increase the sensitivity of your eyes AND

Extend the range of perceived vibration beyond the visible light.

    You can do that by..

    1. Using and training your peripheral vision

    2. Increasing exposure

    3. Enhance visual sensation processing in the brain - enhance the communication between left and right hemispheres of the brain

Go to this page and do the exercises there

    http://thiaoouba.com/aura_eye_exercise.h...

    * You have to use your peripheral vision to see it

Our retina (the focal plane of the eye containing photosensitive cells) is less damaged there than in the central part. The central part of retina is constantly in use, and over the years suffers accumulated damage from excessive and/or artificial illumination (TV, computers, artificial light etc...). Also we have trained the central vision to be used in certain ways over the years.

Young children see auras much easier, because their central vision is not yet damaged. Once they go to school they are told to use their vision in a certain way, and gradually they lose their natural auric sight.

Remember you have to use your peripheral vision you cant and wont see it staring right at it and you need soft light to train in, not dim, but good soft light. No harsh light shining or reflecting in your eyes, I choose a spot to stare at and let my focus drift off and see it with my peripheral vision. Depending on the energy vibration of yours or the persons aura depends how strong of a color appears..try this get a hot pink highlighter put it over a white page focus on it for 30-60 seconds, slowly move it to the side but dont follow it with your eyes keep focus on THAT SPOT. You will see it trail and leave a green aura behind. The color of the vibration of hot pink is strong enough for it to pop out and easily see it. Each color has a vibration and gives off a different aura color.

  2. I have a friend who says he can see people's auras.

He really worked at it and read books about it.

  3. You violated the first rule in the super natural. Your must have FAITH that something will happen. If you were told to stare at your hand over a piece of paper and you know that advice or suggestion is from a reputable source -- do it! Auras are not like the movies. It doesn't happen in 10 seconds or 10 minutes. Sometimes it take many tries until your psyche is ready to respond. The psyche is the part of our mental properties that most humans do not use that often; hence, it is untrained. People who work at it or are born with that extra ordinary talent can pick up on it quicker than you and I. Just remember one thing -- when you deal with the occult there may be consequences which you will not be able to control or undo. That's the price one pays when dealing with occult matters.

  4. Stop worrying about what other will think and try that again. If you notice a sort of fine clear edge around your fingers I believe that to be your aura. Some people can see them better than most of us. All I see is a faint clear 'ghost' line around my fingers that's about 1 mm thick, no colors, nothing more.

  5. Who are you calling close-minded idiots.People who don't believe in auras? We're not the ones staring at our hands.Good luck with that by the way.

  6. I would encourage you not to be so closed-minded as to think that auras must exist. There's a good reason why you are unable to see your aura. In fact, there is no evidence that "auras" even exist let alone that people can sense them. All controlled testing done on the sensing of auras have been dismal failures (see link below)

  7. stand at the end of a hallway for 30 seconds or so in the dark (pitch black is best) and get someone to take a picture with a digital camera from the other end of the hallway just after you step out of the frame  i haven't actually tried this but read it in a book so i hope it works

i don't know if you use a flash or not...hubby and i are going to try it tonight

  8. i TOTALLY beleive in auras and i am absolutely sure that all of us have one.. unfortunately i cant see them..

  9. People "see" their "auras" by using their "imaginations" to convince themselves they're seeing something that isn't really there.

If auras exist then they should be visible to everyone, or at least measurable by an instrument of some sort.  You know, unless it's all in someone's imagination.

If I find two people who claim to be able to read an aura and ask them both what color my aura is, would it be unreasonable to assume if my aura exists they both would report the same color?  What do you suppose would happen if I ran this little experiment?

TR's right.  You need to be more open-minded to the possibility that auras don't exist.

  10. This is a long post - but answers several questions, and includes 3 exercises...

Our culture is indoctrinated to not see energy - and ridiculed or abused if they do.  And people respond to energy very differently.  Try to get several people to agree on the proper temperature thermostat setting, or noise level of music.  People see colors differently at the best of times.  Just ask a man to go shopping to pick out something to match a color  in the house...  Ask 10 men, and you'll get 10 different colors.  No wonder it's hard to get consensus on something our culture actively suppresses!

However, there are many ways to sense energy.  Most people can FEEL an energy field easily.  It's not as dramatic as saying you can see auras - but almost everyone can feel it right away and agree on what they are sensing. Here are a couple of exercises, sometimes used in Qi Qong, Reiki and other disciplines. Try this.

Stand or sit quietly, close your eyes, take a couple of slow breaths and relax.  Now rub the palms of your hands together for about 5 seconds.  Now hold your hands and inch or two apart, palms facing each, fingers slightly curved - as if you were cradling a small ball in between your hands.

Gently move your hands towards and away from each other.  You should be able to feel some tingling or warmth and a slight resistance between your hands - as if you were holding a small ball of energy.  Concentrate exploring the feeling while you keep moving your hands gently.  Now, gently imagine the ball is getting larger - feel it get larger as you move your hands.  See how large you can feel it, then push it back to a small size.  Do this exercise a couple of times.

Now try the same exercise, but try to feel some one else's energy field.  If you have a choice, chose a partner with a big confident personality to begin with.  Have the person stand or sit in a straight back chair or on a stool so you can move all around them.  Stand  behind them, rub your hands together for a few seconds, and then place your hands on either side of their head or torso, and gently move your hands towards their body.  Concentrate on finding a similar tingly, warm resistance like  when you held a small energy ball between your hands.  It will feel different, but similar.  It may be less than an inch away from their body, or a foot or more out.  Try that several times, taking turns.

Now ask your partner to try to "make themselves bigger" - push out their personal space and expand their physical presence (stage performers, middle school teachers, and martial arts students all know exactly how to do this!)  Try to feel their energy now - it will be further out from their body.  Experiment with them and see how far out they can expand and you can feel.  Also, have them contract themselves - pull their energy all the way in - and notice the difference.  Have them alternate expanding and contracting without telling you, and see if you can tell when the get bigger or smaller.

As a last experiment, have your partner imagine a column of energy rising out of the top of their head.  Put your hands above their head and feel the energy, and notice the "push" up.  Now have your partner imagine that the energy is flowing  down into the top of their head.  Feel the energy and notice the direction of the flow.  Practice by have your partner change the direction of flow without telling you, and report to them what you are detecting.

Initially, we rub the palms together to sensitize the hands - the actual tingling from friction only lasts a few seconds, but we can feel energy far after the tingling dissipates.  As you become more practiced you won't need to rub your hands together.

Everybody will sense the energy a bit differently - tingling, warmth, cold, prickling, stinging, silkiness, etc.  And the energy from each person will feel a bit different form anyone else.  With experience, you can discriminate differences, and talk about those differences with other people who have a similar background in detecting energy.  People will experience the energy slightly differently, but agree on the qualitative and quantitative differences.

  11. As I explained in another question auras are the electomagnetic fields put off by living things or things that have been touched recently.  What a nerologist explained to me is there is a wiring mechanism in the brain that causes people to see or not to see auras.  I can catch a glimpse or outline but nothing more.  You don't have to be epilaptic to see an aura but 89% of the population that does is.

  12. Try looking in a mirror and then looking at the wall behind yourself at the same time.

  13. ok this is the easiest way to do it.......

cannt be dark, has to be light, but not to much, dim light, put your 2 index fingers together, up againest a neutral colour wall, or even lay on your bed and put your fingers up so the ceiling is behind them...being white as a background is good also...just not to bright....focus on the outline of your fingers, you will start to see an energy field softley glow around your fingers....then slowly pull your fingers away from each other, and you should see the energy field stretch out with your fingers...almost like rubber stretching....practice this ...it should work...ive shown all my friends to do this....and it always works...after you have done it for a while, youll be able to see it more clearly and better.......

  14. Hello Shadow

Close your eyes, relax, take in a few deep breath, gently think about what your aura may look like. Open your minds eye - see what colours, images or messages arise - this is your aura.

Practice & it will bring results.

    Pam

  15. I listed a couple of books on Auras below.

  16. i've haven't the opportunity to check myself, however others who study this can...i've been told my aura to be green when in my teens, at another stage of my life i was told purple/white...i have no idea why the different colors at different times in  my life - however i myself have not been able to detect my own.

  17. fch...do you use flash...or not???

I had mine done at a psychic fair. I've wondered if they cheated me on it..if it really works. Also...I wonder if it changes according to how it feels or always stays the same. I tried to close my eyes and see it...but all I saw was dark and some curvy lines...like a half sphere. I think it was the inside of my eyelid. LOL
