How can you recognise the real diamond?

i wonder if there is a method or some ways to compar the real diamonds from the faked one?? imean a simple method which you could do in a moments!!

no way u can find out without a test in the lab although practice makes you recognise the fake ones easier..

I was watching some videos about this just out of curiousity and found out that you can use a newspaper.  It's the easiest way of figuring this out but also isn't fool proof.  Basically you line up the diamond to a letter and if you can see through it well, i.e. see the letters, then it's fake.  But if you see diffraction and distortion, there's a greater chance that it is real.

fake as in zirconium or fake as in made in a factory, ie artificial?

Even jewelers cannot tell an artificial diamond from a "real" one. There is special equipment that claims to do this, but apparently it is not reliable.

But the good news is that an artificial diamond looks as good as a real one, and sells for about the same price.  And it will cut glass.
