How can you record conversation on house phones?

Hello, I have to do an interview for a school project, and it involves and interview with a person from our specific time period. But the problem is that my person lives in Massachesttes and i live in a different state. Is there a way to record a phone conversation on a regular house phone?

very easy...!!  go to RadioShack and get that little gizmo....!

nothing fancy to install.....just use with any old tape recorder.....and the best part is...its voice-activated....!

like you ask for this is only for the regular analog phone....there are others for computer and also one for wirlesss recordings....
