Question:

How can you reduce the look of stretch marks?

I had a growth spurt and I now have many stretch marks. :\

I'm only a teenager so my mother told me they'll go away because I'm young, but I know that they won't.

I'm really self conscious and I'm sick of not feeling good enough to wear a bathing suit or even shorts.

I know I can't get rid of them completely. But can you guys help me out?

What can I do to lesson the appearance? Anything that can help. They're still red so I believe they're easier to deal with now then later when they fade.

I've been using bio-oil for the last week or so and I've seen some improvement, but I'd like to do more.

Thanks.

  1. I'm afraid that you will have to let them fade naturally over time. It's normal to get stretch marks sweetie. Most EVERY woman has them, even men. The redness will fade over time. Don't worry too much over it hun. ;)

  2. Before you start spending loads of money on different creams or surgeries, there are a few simple techniques you can try on your own at home. If your stretch marks are not too severe or aged, you can try taking a body brush and scrubbing the affected areas while in the shower. This loosens up the skin, and removes the dead skin on top, leaving fresh, more normal colored skin underneath.

The cheapest stretch mark treatment available is creams made especially for stretch marks. The most effective creams contain ingredients such as cocoa butter, lanolin and wheat germ oil. These creams actually heal and rebuild the damaged skin. While they may not be able to completely eliminate stretch marks, they may at least make the stretch marks fade to a barely visible scar.

  3. Mederma?

  4. cocoa and shea butter lotion and vitamin E lotion find a lotion with all three these will help lighten the sight of the marks. also mederma will smooth them out an fade them as well but mederma is quite expensive 20 bucks for a lil tube of it. Also if you tan the marks will blend in with your skin.  you shouldnt be so embarassed about just a few stretch marks its nothing to worry about hun. they will go away eventually or even just fade dont stress it k

  5. work out and tighten your skin again by gaining muscles
