How can you repel insects from coming into the house?

I have heard that there are ways to "repel" or discourage insects from coming into the house with certain organic products...

Chemicals aren't really a good idea...Is there any natural way to repel insect?

In the natural world insects are repelled by predators, such as birds, bats, and other critters. The only other alternative is the Blue Zapper the kind you will see in resturaunts and the like, but you first have to let them in...........But little insects ????????????? live and let live
